Training objectives

Our major highlights the cultivation of strategic applied talents of educational informationization. With the core goal of the development of students' educational informationization leadership and the ability of wisdom education innovation, we foster compound, application-oriented, entrepreneurial senior professionals who will service intelligent education industry and digital campus construction.

Our conditions

Educational Technology has always been the brand and dominant Specialty in Zhejiang. It has been selected as the project of National Specialty and the Pilot of Comprehensive Reform of Higher Education Profession by Chinese Ministry of Education. At present, this major has ranked in the forefront of colleges and universities with the same major throughout China. The Chinese University and Discipline Professional Evaluation Report showed that our undergraduate major of education technology ranks seventh recently.

Our major of Educational technology is selected as one of the key disciplines marked A in Zhejiang Province. It has doctoral and master's degrees in Education Technology, and master's degrees in Modern Educational Technology (part-time). The research of intelligent education led by this department is a breakthrough area in the Key Universities Construction Program in Zhejiang. Our teaching facilities concluding smart classrooms, new teaching media laboratories, 3D printer, VR laboratories, educational robotics laboratories and digital micro-classrooms have been at the leading domestic level, which lead the progress of educational informationization.

Our department has 20 full-time teachers, including 8 professors and 4 associate professors, 12 of whom have Doctoral degree and 40% have overseas study experience. It also has 1 member of the College Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of education, 2 distinguished professors, 4 Zhejiang New Century 151 Talents and2 internationally renowned scholars and visiting professors. Furthermore, we has built three national-level resources sharing curriculum, three provincial-level resources sharing curriculum, a provincial-level online open courses and two bilingual courses, and other 7 quality courses of Zhejiang universities’ Informational Teaching series.

Our Achievement

In the past four years, our undergraduates have presided over 4 national innovation and entrepreneurship training projects and received a total of 41 provincial-level awards in Zhejiang University Multimedia Design Competition, Zhejiang Universities Normal Students Teaching Skills Competition and Zhejiang “Challenge Cup” Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Program Competition, including 15 first-class prizes, 15 second-class awards, and 11 third-class awards.

The employment rate of our graduates and employers’ satisfaction degree were both in the top rank of our university.According to the evaluation results from the employers in the past years, the work of our graduates are generally satisfied. The employers are particularly optimistic about their strong practical ability. They have obvious technical advantages in courseware making, website development, network management and so on. There are also a number of excellent students who have the chances for exchange to some well-known colleges and universities in the foreign countries every year.

Employment prospects

With the gradual promotion of the national educational informationization development strategy, the advantages of our graduates and the degree of attention have been further improved. The graduates in the past years mainly work in the primary and secondary schools, educational technology centers, media organizations, IT companies and other fields, which embody the multi-direction and multi-field employment orientation of Information Technology Teachers, School Information Managers and Educational Resources Development. Many of these graduates show excellent professional skills and working abilities and become the technical backbone or leaders in the workplaces.

Entry Requirements:

1. Foreign nationals, over 18 years old.

2. In good health condition, in accordance with the Health Standard for International Students stipulated by the Ministry of Education, China.

3. Good moral character and discipline towards the laws and regulations of the Chinese government.

4. Good English or Chinese language proficiency.

5. Holding high school diploma for Bachelor programs.
