Research Fields
Field 1, Physical Geography
The research interests include Environmental Change and Human Activities, Watershed Hydrology and Water Resources, and Watershed Landscape Ecology and Surface Processes.
Main Features: Focuses on the geomorphic processes of the Qiantang River Basin, environmental change, and human adaptation, with emphasis on: (1) exploring the mechanisms behind extreme climatic events in the basin, reconstructing the history of paleoclimate evolution over multiple periods and scales through multi-proxy records, revealing regional responses to global climate change; (2) understanding the surface physical processes and environmental chemical processes of the complex basin system, comprehensively assessing the resource and environmental status of the study area, developing key technologies for environmental management and restoration, and performing health management of the basin environment.
Field 2, Human Geography
The research interests include industrial Clusters and Zhejiang-Africa Cooperation, Cultural Diffusion and Changes in Cultural Regions, and Development and Utilization of Basin Resources.
Main Features: Focuses on the industrial transfer from the Qiantang River Basin to Africa and the spatiotemporal changes in culture, with emphasis on: (1) based on the industrial spatial patterns and structural optimization of the basin, exploring the trajectory and driving mechanisms of labor-intensive industries moving to Africa, clarifying the coupling effects of industrial development and basin environmental risks; (2) focusing on the spatiotemporal changes in the culture of the Qiantang River Basin and the culture of African ethnic groups, revealing the spatial differences and mechanisms of Zhejiang-Africa cultural interaction, providing geographic support for Zhejiang’s industries going global, serving as an important think tank for China-Africa industrial and cultural cooperation.
Field 3, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
The research interests include Ecological Quantitative Remote Sensing, Disaster Monitoring , Simulation, and warning, Big Data Mining and Cloud Computing for Global Change.
Main Features: Focuses on environmental event monitoring and warning in the Qiantang River Basin, emphasizing: (1) multi-scale remote sensing monitoring, quantitative remote sensing inversion, data fusion, and data analysis of the ecological environment in the Qiantang River Basin, providing data support for the harmonious development of the basin's ecological environment; (2) intelligent management of basin safety, developing geographic big data analysis, cloud computing technology, artificial intelligence, and other key technologies and application model algorithms, constructing a spatial data visualization information platform for the basin, realizing assessment and early warning for environmental safety in the basin, and offering intelligent support for disaster prevention and mitigation.
