Geography (Taught in Chinese)

I. Educational Objectives

Taking fostering virtue through education as the fundamental task, this program aims to cultivate outstanding teachers who have a passion for basic geography education, noble professional ethics, profound educational devotion and advanced educational philosophies. Graduates shall possess strong innovative awareness, sound core geographic literacy, solid capabilities in educational research and teaching practice, as well as competent communication, class management and comprehensive student cultivation skills. They are expected to keep abreast of cutting-edge advances in geography and related disciplines, and lead the reform and development of middle school geography education.

II. Duration of Study

The program lasts for 4 years, with a permitted study period of 3–6 years.

III. Basic Disciplinary Courses

Meteorology and Climatology, Human Geography, Introduction to Geographical Sciences, Advanced Mathematics, General Earth Science, Fundamentals of Geology, Surveying and Cartography, Geomorphology, etc.

IV. Core Major Courses

China Geography, World Geography, Soil Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Plant Geography, Hydrology, Economic Geography, Quantitative Geography, Introduction to Environmental Science, Global Environmental Change, and Integrated Natural Geography.

V. CSCA Test Subjects

STEM Chinese, Mathematics, Chemistry.
