Early Childhood Education (Taught in Chinese)

I. Educational Objectives

Upholding the university motto “Wisdom with Virtue; Integrity with Innovation” and adhering to the philosophy of “Everything for Children”, this program cultivates outstanding multi-disciplinary early childhood education professionals who love children and the cause of early childhood education. Graduates shall enjoy physical and mental health, possess good conduct, solid humanistic and scientific literacy, systematic professional knowledge and comprehensive capabilities in childcare and education. Being adept at learning, practice and reflection, they are qualified to undertake teaching, management and research work in various early childhood education institutions at all levels.

II. Duration of Study

The program lasts for 4 years, with a permitted study period of 3–6 years.

III. Basic Disciplinary Courses(Including Teacher Education Courses)

Introduction to Early Childhood Education, Child Human Biology, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Pedagogy, Chinese and Foreign History of Early Childhood Education, Development and Education of Children with Special Needs, Children’s Language and Literature, Educational Statistics and Software Application, Oral Communication for Teachers, Children’s Learning Science, etc.

IV. Core Major Courses

Early Childhood Pedagogy, Early Childhood Care, Child Development Science, Professional Ethics for Early Childhood Teachers, Observation and Guidance of Play, Kindergarten Curriculum, Health Education for Young Children, Social Education for Young Children, Research Methods in Early Childhood Education, Science Education for Young Children, Language Education for Young Children, Kindergarten Classroom Management, Art Education for Young Children, Early Childhood Education Evaluation, Theories and Practices of Family-Kindergarten-Community Co-education, etc.
