Digital Media Arts (Taught in Chinese)

I. Educational Objectives

Closely responding to the vigorous development of the digital industry and keeping pace with new trends in digital information technology, this program emphasizes the integration of technology and art, and focuses on digital design and interaction design. Guided by cutting-edge industrial practices, it cultivates interdisciplinary and application-oriented artistic talents. Graduates will master fundamental theories of digital media art, possess sound artistic and humanistic literacy, command the workflows and methodologies of digital content production, and be competent in creative development, production and communication of digital content.

II. Duration of Study

The program lasts for 4 years, with a permitted study period of 3–6 years.

Introduction to Design, Fundamentals of Visual Design, Space and Form, Creative Thinking and Expression, History of Design, Art Appreciation and Criticism, Fundamentals of Open-Source Programming, Fundamentals of Digital Image, Material Research and Representation, Comparative Chinese and Western Aesthetics, Design Research Methods, Project Planning and Copywriting, Design Technology, Sustainable Design, etc.

IV. Core Major Courses

Fundamentals of 2D Animation, Interaction Design, Visual Expression, Sound Expression, Fundamentals of 3D Animation, Fundamentals of Game Design, Integrated Design, etc.
