Guide for International Students: Chinese Student Visa Application
1. Download Official Admission Notice
Required Platform:ZJNUInternational Student Application Portal
https://admission.zjnu.edu.cn
Log in to your university’s admission website with the accountyou used to submit the application.
Enter the module: My Application
After passing university review, the electronic stamped Admission Notice will be available for download. Click admission letter to download.
Save the PDF file and print 2 full hard copies (for visa embassy check-in + school registration after arrival).
Double-check all personal info (passportname,major,program duration)before printing.
Please submit your JW201/JW202/DQ Form in 2 weeks after you receive admission notice.

You will receive an official system email with a subject of “Notification on Your Confirmation Form for Study in China Download 外国留学人员来华确认表下载通知”once you get admitted. There is a dedicated download link (sent to the same email you filled in the application system).
Check spam/junk mailbox if you didn’t receive notification emails in 24h after admission. Please note that this email was not sent from Zhejiang Normal University’s official email account(admission@zjnu.edu.cn).

Study in China JW202 Download Page
Open the link via desktop/laptop browser only (mobile phones/tabletsmight be incompatible with the download system)
Fill in required credentials:Passport name(same sequence with you filled in the application system),passport number, registered email, verification code
Preview the JW202 electronic form, verify all personal, program, school information is consistent with your Admission Notice
Download the official PDF with QR code & MOE electronic seal, print 2 hard copies
Save the original PDF permanently for backup
Common Download Issues & Solutions
No download email received:
Check spam folder; confirm you used the identical email for university admission
Contact International Student Office (admission@zjnu.edu.cn) to re-trigger the system notification
Cannot open download page: Switch to Chrome/Firefox desktop browser, clear cache
3.Visa Application
Submit visa application at China Online VISA Application (COVA).
Website:https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/
Step 1:Choose the right visa type(Forstudying over 180 days:X1 Visa,For studyingless than180 days:X2 Visa) and prepare the application materials.
Step 2:Fill in the application form, upload the materials, and make the payment.
Step 3:Check the result of the preliminary review.
Step 4:Submit your passport.
Step 5:Collect your passport.
Required documents:
(1)Passport
a).Originalordinarypassport(Diplomatic passports, service passports and other types of passports are not accepted.)with at least six months of remaining validity and with at least 2 pieces of blank visa page.
b). A photocopy of the passport (the data page that includes the photo, personal information and signature page)
(2)Visa Application Form,appointment form and Photo
1. Complete and sign your name at Chinese Visa Application Form.
You need to access to the website of Chinese Visa Application Service Center, fill in all information in Chinese Visa Application Online Form, print it out and sign your name.
2. Recently-taken colour passport photos. The requirements of the photo will be a recent 6 month coloured passport photo (full face, bare head, clear and white background) and the measurement of photo should be (48mm X 33mm). In addition, the colour of attire of the applicant in the photo should be distinct contrast with the colour of the photo background. Please clickthe following large photo for details.
Please be noticed that, your visa application may be declined if your photo does not satisfy the requirements, and all the responsibilities should be taken by yourself.
3. Appointment Form: After successfully make anappointment, you need to print out theappointment form, and bring it along with other documents when coming to visa center for application
(3)Those who haven't go abroad need to add a copy of family record book
(4)Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable to those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.
(5)Photocopy of previous Chinese visas (applicable for those who have obtained Chinese visas before)
If you have obtained Chinese visas before, you should provide the photocopy of the latest identical Chinese visa.
(6) Applicants under 18 years old:
a). Application form for those who are under 18 years old should be signed by parent(s) or their guardian(s) on the form Section 5.The passports of parent(s) and/or relevant legal documents for the guardians plus passport of the guardians will be needed. Both original and copy of passport information page and signature page.
b). Applicants under 18 should also provide the Birth Certificate with parents' names (original and copy). If any personal information does not match with the documents provided (such as a name change), an official changing proof documents will be needed.
2. Supporting Documents
(1) Admission Notice issued byZJNU;
(2) Confirmation Form for Study in China (Form JW201 or Form JW202 or DQ form) issued by Chinese relevant authorities.
We kindly remind you that:
Holders of X1-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.
3. Special Reminder
(1)Requirements for application documents may vary by country. Please refer to the requirements of your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate.
(2) All the Documents except required original, may be in the form of fax, photocopy or scanned copy, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original documents. All non-original documents must be clear and neat.
(3) If the applicant is a dual national or multi-national, please provide all current valid passports in his/her possession. Additionally, the previous passport(s) may also be required in support of the application.
(4) If necessary, the consular officer will require an interview with the applicant or require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, i.e. naturalization paper, bank statement, tax report, proof of relation etc., which may not be listed in the website, in accordance with individual cases or different circumstances.
(5)The consular officer will decide on whether issue the visa or not and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
(6) All application documents will be kept by the Chinese Embassy. The Visa Centre will only return your passport back when you come for collection.
