Zhejiang Normal University (ZJNU) was established in 1956. It has consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in China. According to the 2024-2025 U.S. News Best Global University Rankings, ZJNU ranks 451th globally and 55th in China’s mainland.

Renowned for its academic excellence, ZJNU boasts 8 disciplines—mathematics, chemistry, engineering, materials science, environment/ecology, computer science, plant & animal science, social sciences (general)，Psychiatry/Psychology, and Physics—which are distinguished among the top 1% in the ESI ranking.
